One of the biggest truths of life is death — something we all want to avoid, yet no one can escape.

My maternal grandfather is no more. He was the hero of my life, my mentor, my guiding light. A man who always walked the path of truth.

Born in 1936, he was the eldest among his brothers and took on major responsibilities early in life. It was a time when people relied entirely on farming and animal husbandry. From childhood, he cared for sheep and cattle. Schools were rare, and formal education wasn’t prioritized — but that didn’t stop him.

Though he wanted to be a Hindi teacher, in 1970 he joined SSB (Sashastra Seema Bal), trained as a Medic, and served across various Indian states as a Havildar.

After retiring, he built a library at home and spent most of his time reading. He knew ten languages and was fluent in most — Hindi, English, Urdu, Punjabi, Gujarati, Bengali, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Tamil.

Even in later years, he remained committed to truth and helping others. At 89, he peacefully bid farewell to this world.

His absence will always be felt, but his values will stay with me forever.

One of the biggest truths of life is death — something we all want to avoid, yet no one can escape.

My maternal grandfather is no more. He was the hero of my life, my mentor, my guiding light. A man who always walked the path of truth.

Born in 1936, he was the eldest among his brothers and took on major responsibilities early in life. It was a time when people relied entirely on farming and animal husbandry. From childhood, he cared for sheep and cattle. Schools were rare, and formal education wasn’t prioritized — but that didn’t stop him.
